774 Young adults with acute coronary syndrome: still a long road ahead

Abstract Aims Acute coronary syndrome (ACS) are a leading cause for mortality and morbility worldwide. Despite ACS usually affects the older population, it also occurs in younger individuals. Young patients (YACS) have significantly worse prognosis compared to their age-mates general population. YACS characterized by different risk profiles mates, many aspects still remain elusive. Aim of this study was describe clinical profile young adults with Coronary Syndrome. Methods results (≤50 years) first diagnose Syndrome admitted Magna Graecia University Hospital were enrolled ongoing GENEPAMY registry. Over 7 years, total 675 eligible aged 44 ± 8 years included. Men accounted 84.9% all patients. Overall, 11.9% had diabetes, 69.1% hypertension, 17.6% obesity, 93.6% dyslipidemia, while 75.5% smokers. In overall cohort, 44.1% diagnosed STEMI, 45.9% NSTEMI, remaining been Unstable Angina. Cardiogenic shock present at admission 2.7% cases. Multivessel disease 39% cases less frequent women (P < 0.001). Thrombolysis administered as initial treatment 15.1% but ineffective 66.7% Percutaneous angioplasty performed 79.1% patients, 1.9% underwent surgical myocardial revascularization. Spontaneous dissection 0.7% men 17.2% At admission, 98.9% treated ASA, 17.9% clopidogrel, 49.1% ticagrelor 28.4% prasugrel. A complete revascularization achieved 81.6% during index hospitalization more (86.3% vs. 80.8; P Conclusions Our data highlight that peculiar profile. particular, high cardiovascular demands attention. Finally, despite most men, several relevant differences needing careful management.
